Our Mission
STRIDE believes all people, regardless of age, ability or family role, have the right to live, love, work, learn, participate, play, and pursue their dreams in their community. Our goal is to assist and support individuals on their journey of attaining their vision of a good life.
Our Goals
STRIDE’S goal is to build the capacity of individuals with disabilities to make informed and self-directed decisions for their lives, to self advocate for their life’s vision and to prepare families and professionals to support individuals with disabilities in those activities. In order to facilitate that for those individuals receiving Medicaid Waiver services and their families, Stride’s policy is that a behavioral support plan is developed to assist in identifying and reducing challenging behaviors that interfere with their ability to achieve their vision of good lives. In order to reduce the challenging behaviors, positive, adaptive replacement behaviors are developed that build on the strengths/abilities of the individual, and aid in development of skills necessary to live, learn, work in the community as independently as possible.
